ABSTRACT: Description of Olibrus festivus sp.n. and new data on the fauna of the genera Olibrus Erichson 1845 from Republic of South Africa are given. ÐÅÇÞÌÅ. Ïðèâîäèòñÿ îïèñàíèå Olibrus festivus sp.n. è íîâûå äàííûå ïî ìåñòîíàõîæäåíèÿì Olibrus Erichson 1845 èç Þæíî-Àôðèêàíñêîé Ðåñïóáëèêè. This work is based on material from South Africa, kept in the South African National Collection of Insects (Biosystematic Division, ARC-Plant Protection Research Institute, Pretoria) (SANC). The bulk of material treated herein has been deposited in SANC, a few duplicates in the Zoological Museum of the Moscow University (ZMUM). The phalacrid fauna of Southern Africa was studied in Champion [1925], and reviewed in Lyubarsky [1997]. Then Olibrus rufopunctatus Lyubarsky, 1997 is transferred to the genus Podocesus, Olibrus sternosetosus Lyubarsky, 1997 is transferred to Stilbus [Svec, 2003]. In this article one species of Phalacridae from RSA are described, basing on the material of SANC and ZMUM. New material from this museum provides additional data on the distribution of Olibrus bohemani Champion, 1925; O. namibiensis Lyubarsky, 1997; O. nigroclavatus Champion, 1925; O. pondoensis Champion, 1925; O. rufoplagiatus Champion, 1925; O. quadristriatus Champion, 1925 in Ethiopian Realm. All materials was collected by beating from Delairea odorata, Arctotheca calendula, Cineraria lobata, Senecio ilicifolius, Senecio helminthioides and Senecio angulatus (Asteraceae). I am very grateful of Elisabeth Grobbelaar for receiving the material. Olibrus bohemani Champion, 1925 Figs 13

DESCRIPTION. Length of body 1.92.1 mm, shortoval, 1.61.7 times as long as broad. Body shining, convex, upper surface dark-brown or black, with yellow apical spot or yellowish apical area. Under surface dark-brown, antennae, mouth parts, and legs yellowish. Head transverse, widest at eyes. Without microsculpture but very finely and irregularly punctured. Punctures small, speed by 23 or more times their own diameter. Antennae slender, segments 9th and 10th asymmetric, 10th transversal, terminal joint of the club slightly elongate, less than of 9th and 10th united. Pronotum transverse, about 0.410.48 times longer than wide, posterior edge with large median lobe, finely bordered at base. Pronotal surface shining, slightly shagreened, sparsely covered with very small punctures, approximately 34 diameters apart from their lateral neighbours. Prosternal process narrow, bordered laterally.

Scutellum triangular, no broad, about 0.56 times longer than wide, blunt at apex. Scutellar surface shining, shagreened, sparsely covered with small punctures. Elytra broadest near base, 2.32.4 times longer than pronotum, 1.041.12 times longer than to their total width. Elytral surface shining, feebly shagreened, strong shagreened in apex, very feeble striate, covered by rounded punctures, indistinctly seriate, approximately 57 diameters of puncture apart from their lateral neighbours, intervals extremely finely, sparsely and disorderly punctured. Elytra with one sutural stria, sometimes with weak second stria. First sutural stria not connected with second stria apically. Metasternal process bordered laterally and apically, with punctation minute, median part sparsely finely pubescent (Fig. 16). Male genitalia as in Fig. 14, female as in Fig. 15.
