CATALOGUE OF SPACE STORMS

based on the
list of selected geomagnetic disturbed days with mean daily Ap>20 in 1997-2009

full list | 1997 | 1998 | 1999 | 2000 | 2001 | 2002 | 2003 | 2004 | 2005 | 2006 | 2007 | 2008 | 2009

Description of the Catalogue

  • NN - number of event
  • yyyy/mm/dd - date of event: year, month and day respectively
  • 3d Map of Solar Events - Map of the solar events on the solar surface (see Map description) occurred from four to two days before the geomagnetic disturbed day
  • 3d List of Solar Events - Solar Events occurred from four to two days before the geomagnetic disturbed day (obtained from Solar Event Reports). Description of the format
  • CH maps - Maps of coronal holes observed on the Sun from four to two days before the geomagnetic disturbed day (obtained from NSO Kitt Peak)
  • DSF maps - H alpha maps of solar filaments observed from four to two days before the geomagnetic disturbed day (obtained from BASS2000 Solar Survey Archive)
  • 7d SW Conditions - Time profiles of the key geomagnetic (Ap and Dst indices), solar wind (velocity V, density n and temperature T) and IMF (B, Bx, By, Bz in GSM) parameters observed in the 7 day vicinity of the geomagnetic disturbed day (see description).
  • 3d SW Conditions - Time profiles of the key geomagnetic (Ap and Dst indices), solar wind (velocity V, density n and temperature T) and IMF (B, Bx, By, Bz in GSM) parameters observed in the 3 day vicinity of the geomagnetic disturbed day (see description).
  • 1d Map of Solar Events - Map of the solar events on the solar surface (see Map description) occurred within 1 day vicinity of the moment when the solar wind expansion (which causes the geomagnetic event) started from the Sun. The moment is restored using maximal velocity observed during less than 12 hours before maximal Ap-index value on the geomagnetic disturbed day.
  • 1d List of Solar Events - Solar Events occurred in 1 day vicinity of the moment when the solar wind expansion started from the Sun (see above). Obtained from Solar Event Reports.
