Omega Centuri From Flagstaff, AZ

Forty images (40 minute, 1 minute subframe) taking with 94 mm Brandon scope on Vixen SXD mount, unguided. Stacked and processed through Image Plus 3.75 with dark, flat, and bias frame subtracted.  Further processed through Photoshop 6.0 and then cropped.  This object was only 6 deg above the horizon in Flagstaff!  Amazing, this is clearer then objects at the zenith in MASS!

Christmas Eve M42

M33

I had a brief time to try my new toy; an ST-8300 with filter wheel.  I took the following sequence: LRGB, L 10 images at 3 minute sub frame, RGB was 15 images at 2 minutes.  I did not do a bias flat or dark (just tested the system).  Aligned each channel of RGB and then Luminance. Then went to Photoshop and created a RGB in Channels then layered the Lum on top.  Did Unsharp Mask and then saved.

M42 using ST-8300

Another test with the ST-8300 and filters (LRGB).  Combined image from L is 15 of  2min, R is 10 images at 3 min, G 10 at 2 in, and B is 10 images at 2 min.  Had some issues with the darks, bias, and flats so I did not do subtraction.  Used my 6" APO at F9.  Processed through CCDStack and then further processed in Photoshop CS5.

NGC 2024 - Flame Nebula

This image is from an LRGB combined with Halpha.  L consisted of 10 images of 360 sec subframe, Red was 10 images at 300 sec, both Green and Blue consisted of 5 images of 300 subfrmae, and Halpha consisted of 10 images of 480 sec subframe.  Processed in both CCDStack and PS CS5. Jupiter 19 Nov 2012

Single processed image from Flea 3 Firewire camera.  APO 6" Scope at F 45.  Stacked in Images Plus; around 2500 frames, through a red, green, and blue filter. Created a RGB image in PS CS5. Sharpen image and saved.  Seeing was observed as Good for planets that night.

IC 1396, better know as the Elephant's Trunk. Taken with a Orion 100mm F6.   LGB (no red)and H filters as follows:
L - 25 images, G and B - 15 images each, all with a subframe of 180 seconds.  Halpha (Used Halpha in place of Red filter) - 20 images of subframe 360 seconds.  Processed/stacked with CCDStack. Combined  and stacked with PS CS5.

Rosette Nebula

Image created from the following:  120 images of Clear filter,  20 of RGB.  each of 60 second subframe.  10 Haplha of 120 second subframe.  Combined Red and Halpa to get a red/haplha mean image and then processed normally through CCDStack with finishing process through Photoshop CS 5.  Because for the field of view, I used my 100mm Orion photo guide scope vs. the 6" APO.  This attributed to the fringing of color in the stars.
