The Primary Expedition 7 crew International Space Station
- Russian cosmonaut Yuri Malenchenko (ISS-7 commander, Soyuz
TMA-2 commander), American astronaut Edward Lu (ISS-7 flight
engineer, Soyuz TMA-2 flight engineer-1) - and European
Space Agency (ESA) astronaut, Visiting Expedition 5 (VE-5)
flight engineer, Soyuz TMA-2 flight engineer-2 Pedro Duquer
of Spain have returned to Earth in the Descent Module of
the Soyuz TMA-2 spacecraft.

The Russian newly-modified Soyuz TMA-2 manned space transportation
vehicle docked to the International Space Station.

 Today
at 7 hours 53 minutes 52 seconds Moscow Time, the Russian
Soyuz TMA-2 manned transport vehicle was launched by the
Souyz-FG rocket.

meeting of the State Board was held at which the Soyuz TMA-2
and ISS-7 prime and backup crews were approved, as well
as a decision was made to continue the Rocket & Space
Complex processing for filling and launch within the scheduled
time.
The prime crew consists of: Yuri
Ivanovich Malenchenko, commander - flight cosmonaut
of RF, test cosmonaut of the Yu.A. Gagarin Cosmonaut Training
Center, and Edward Tsang
Lu, NASA's astronaut, flight engineer.
The backup crew consists of: Alexander
Yurievich Kaleri, commander - flight engineer of RF,
test cosmonaut of S.P. Korolev RSC Energia, and Colin
Michael Foale, NASA's astronaut, flight engineer.

 At
5:00 a.m. Moscow time launch vehicle with the Soyuz TMA-2
spacecraft was transferred from Assembly and Testing Facility
to launch site. The Soyuz-FG - Soyuz TMA-2 system was erected
on the launcher.

In the LV processing facility, the orbital module was integrated
with the launch vehicle.

At 15 hours Moscow time, a meeting of the Governmental
Commission and the Technical Management was held where a
decision was made to roll out the launch vehicle carrying
Soyuz TMA-2 to the launch pad.

Expedition Seven crews to the ISS consisting of Yu. Malenchenko,
Ed Lu (prime crew) and A. Kaleri, M. Foale (backup
crew) arrived to Baikonur to the launch site to immediate
training for the flight to the ISS scheduled on April 26.

carrying the members of Prime Crew-7 intended for flight
