Discovered by
Lick Observatory Supernova Search
(USA).
This one is a Type LBV in a small companion galaxy of NGC 4559 (z=0.003).
NGC 4559C
(= IC 3550) is an HII region in NGC 4559.
It has been discovered several times at this point
first as
PSN J12355230+2755559
by LOSS, soon after which it was confirmed as an LBV.
A second outburst was found as
PSN J12355216+2755560,
discovered on 2014/02/25.723 by K. Iagaki.
A third time as
PSN J12355235+2755563,
discovered 2014/06/22.890 by Giancarlo Cortini.
Now as
AT2016blu
by Ron Arbour.
We have a Photometry reference image
made by Odd Trondal.
This supernova is in the
Constellation Coma Berenices.
