Daily Status Report as of 021/1200Z.

1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED:

1.1 Complete HSP/UV2 1095 (Variability of High Luminosity Stars)

Three observations were made using the High Speed Photometer to monitor
one of the most massive and luminous known stars HD15570. All three
observations were received and displayed in the OSS. All the
observations were reported to be normal.

1.2 Complete GHRS/2 3737 (Onset of Chromospheric Activity)

The High Resolution Spectrograph was used to make four spectral
observations of the area around the carbon II resonance line at 1335
A0 for the A class star HD203280. The observations were received and
displayed. The onboard target acquisition was successful. The wave
length calibration observations were okay, and the science spectral
observations were reported to be normal

1.3 Complete WFC-PC 4109 (Rapid Internal Monitor)

Both the Planetary Camera and the Wide Field Camera using filter
F555W were used to take two internal flat observations to check for
new forms of contamination (i.e., Daisies and measles). Both of the
observations were received and displayed. Both of the internal flat
images were reported to look normal.

1.4 Complete PC 3230 (PSF and Focus Monitoring 2)

The Planetary Camera was used to make two observations of the 8th
magnitude standard star SAO62896 to monitor the point spread
function and focus changes caused by desorption and other changes
within the WFPC system. The observations were executed in course
track. In the first observation the target star appeared on the BAUM
spot, and was reported to be bad. The second observation was
reported to be normal.

1.5 Complete Two Sets of GHRS/2 3578 (Line Eclipse Mapping of Accretion
Disk Winds)

The High Resolution Spectrograph was used to make 13 spectral and
calibration observations of the cataclysmic variable star MU Ursa
Majoris. This eighth magnitude star is known to be an eclipsing
binary star, with an accretion disk. All of the deflection
calibration, spiral search target acquisitions, and scientific
spectral observations were successful.

1.6 Uplink Updated Ephemeris Tables, Per MOSES 2871

1.7 Complete One Set of FOS/RD/BL 4694 (Stellar Content of Galaxies and
Globular Clusters) and Initiate a Second

Observations of four different globular clusters were made in the
central bulge of the galaxy M-31 (aka, Andromeda Galaxy). The
observations were received in real time and displayed. The
observations were reported to look okay.

1.8 Complete FOS/BL-WFC 3545 (Evolution of UV Spectra in Early Type
Galaxies)

The Faint Object Spectrograph was used in parallel with the prime
science observations to make six ultraviolet spectral observations
of galaxies 55W037 and 55W041. All six observations were received
and displayed in the OSS. They all were reported to be normal.

1.9 Complete FOS/RD 4052 (Inner Regions of Quasars)

The Faint Object Spectrograph was used to make four observations of
the inner regions of quasar 4C55-17. The observations were received
and displayed, and all observations were found to be normal.

1.10 Complete One Set of WFC 3917 HST Medium Deep Survey: Part 1) and
Initiate a Second

The Wide Field Camera was used to make three high latitude
observations which were taken in parallel with Faint Object Camera
(f/48) prime science observations. All three observations were
received and displayed. They all were reported to be okay.

1.11 Complete WFC 4105 (HST Medium Deep Survey: High Latitude)

The Wide Field Camera was used to make one observation to be used
for a medium-deep sky survey which as taken in parallel with the
prime science observation. The observation was reported to look
okay, and had a moving object which trailed across the image.

1.12 Complete FOC/96 3880 (Circumstellar and Interstellar Absorption Lines)

Two absorption line observations were made of the central star in
protoplanetary nebula IC3568. Star light from the central star is
used to probe the neutral material surrounding this star. Both
observations were received and displayed. They both were reported to
look okay.
