The Design Reference Mission (DRM) was intended to be a representative science program for the Webb. The DRM Programs are presented in detail sufficient to aid in the development of functional requirements for the JWST mission (e.g. before the selection and final design of the instruments and telescope optics). The DRM was developed by the Ad Hoc Science Working Group in 1997-99.
