Due to the STIS suspend earlier this week, there are no
STIS activities on this calendar.

* This SMS contains a battery reconditioning test. *
****************************************************

The solar arrays have been managed to be near normal during the test
timeframe. The compatible pointing profile covers the timeframe of
223:09:25 - 226:07:45. The test start time is the entry into
shadow at 223:11:01.

The requested minimum ten minute forwards during the first
four shadow periods are addressed by the following contacts.
Note that the fourth request has only a five-minute overlap
with the actual contact:

Continuous Engineering Recording (CER) has been scheduled to occur
during the timerange of 223:11:04 - 225:19:01.

However, to receive both engineering and science data during this
period and to avoid data recorder overflows, a number of gaps in
the CER were planned. Efforts were made to match these gaps to the
known times of TDRS return contacts, thereby minimizing the number
and duration of the gaps in the CER. A total of five science data
dumps and three engineering data dumps were scheduled during the
CER. A list of the gaps in the CER are as follows:

Start of Continuous Engineering Recording: 223:11:04

Commanding Notes for Flight SMS 042227G1
****************************************

Because of the ongoing STIS suspend investigation, no STIS commanding
appears on this SMS.

Note that a battery capacity test is scheduled for this SMS.
A version of the battery capacity test alternate payload safing sequence
which omits the STIS CEB enable command is loaded as RTSID MPSSBCT2
in slot 45 and inhibited near the start of this SMS. This version includes
the NSSC-1 clear command and all four regulator off commands. The alternate
NICMOS safing sequence was loaded and inhibited in the 041901A2 health and
safety SMS.

The safing sequence pointers should be modified to point to these alternate
safing sequences, MPSSBCT2 (index number 45) and NSAFBCT (index number 39),
just prior to the beginning of the battery test as part of the OPS request.
After the test completes, the pointers should again be modified to point
to the standard safing sequences.

The ACS filter wheel initializations (which will execute during recovery
from the ACS anneal on this SMS) have been modified (via Instruction change)
to increase the holdoff count from 4 to 7 counts. This will increase the
time between completion of filter wheel moves and reading of the filter wheel
position resolvers by about 0.2 sec. This is intended to eliminate the
erroneous filter wheel positioning error log entries which have occurred
several times recently.
