Th e origina l VAL D list s hav e bee n complemente d wit h criticall y evaluate d dat a obtaine d fro m experimenta l measurement s an d theoretica l calculation s whic h ar e necessar y for computin g state-of-the-ar t lin e opacitie s i n stella r atmospheres , a s well a s for spectra l synthesi s for hig h precisio n studie s (e.g . abundances , radia l velocitie s etc.) . I n thi s pape r w e presen t ne w an d improve d dat a set s for chemica l element s tha t hav e alread y bee n include d i n VALD , for ne w element s an d for additiona l highe r ionize d species .
