From: TerryMosel@aol.com Date: Thu, 16 Oct 2003 19:11:45 EDT Subject: iSCAN Update, IAA talk Hi all, Ian Elliott has asked me to pass on the following item, which he acccidentally omitted from the last iSCAN bulletin which I forwarded: "The theme of this year's John Joly Colloquium is IMPACT CRATERS. It will be held on Friday, 17 October at 5.30pm in the Thomas Davis Lecture Theatre, Arts Building, Trinity College, Dublin. Entry is free. Programme: 5.30 Introduction: Professor Nicky White 5.35-6.05: Mike Simms (Ulster Museum): 'Searching for hidden impact craters' (includes recent discoveries in Co. Antrim and across the UK). 6.05-6.35: Joanne Morgan (Imperial College, London): 'Chicxulub: where do we stand and where are we going?' 6.35-7.05: Simon Stewart (IBP Azerbaijan): 'Silverpit multi-ringed Crater, North Sea'." I should also mention that 'Ulsternaut' Derek Heatly, who will be giving the IAA lecture on Wednesday at 7.30 p.m. in Stranmillis College, Belfast, will be selling various souvenirs of his flights such as photos & a video, in aid of charity. So do come along, with plenty of cash.... After all, the meeting, and the refreshments, are free, so the least you can do is to buy something to help a worthy cause?! Clear Skies, Terry Moseley
