Subject: Possible aurora, eyepiece & Solarscopes offer

Hi all,

1. There's the posibility of an aurora when the sky gets dark late this
evening, thanks to Active Region 759 which sent out a strong M8 class solar flare.
The flare hit Earth this morning raising Geomagnetic activity to level G5
which is very high. So far, N. America would seem to have been best placed to see
any aurorae, but it's just posible that there will still be some activity here
in Ireland when it gets dark. Let me know if you see anything.

2. Just released is the 'New' 'Made in Japan' range of Baader Orthoscopic
Eyepieces. 31.7mm barrel and Fully Multicoated with Baader's 'Phantom MC'
coatings. They have been reviewed favourably, comparing this range with Vixen's
Orthoscopics and TMB's Monocentric eyepieces. Retail prices from ё64.99 to ё67.99,
which is good value for the quality. Contact Andy McCrea as below.

3. Solarscopes: Ken Huggett has appointed Andy McCrea as Solarscope dealer.
He can offer significant discounts on these new 70mm instruments and other
Solarscopes - which might be of interest to some of the Total Eclipse trippers,
or for the Annular on 3 October 2005, which is a large partial eclipse in
Ireland.
