Scientific Administration

In the first quarter of the year, Simon Jeffery played a significant role in the organisation of the National Astronomy Meeting held in Dublin, both as a member of the Scientific Organizing Committee and with responsibility for the conference web site, on-line registrations and programme publication. He served as a member of the scientific organizing committee for the first ever workshop on ``Extreme Horizontal Branch Stars'' (June 2003, Keele, England). He is currently the Observatory's representative on the Court of the University of Ulster.
