Armagh Observatory reports that the weather in June was drier, duller and slightly milder than average. ![]()
Dry Dull June
Rainfall amounted to 37.8 mm, that is, less than two-thirds the average June figure of 62.5 mm. Virtually no rain fell on half the days of the month.
The total sunshine for the month amounted to 114.0 hours, that is, about two-thirds of the average value of 165 hours.
The mean monthly temperature was 14.8 degrees Celsius (58.6 degrees Fahrenheit), somewhat above the average June figure of 13.6 degrees. The maximum temperature of the month, 23.9 degrees C (75.0 degrees Fahrenheit), occurred on 22nd.
These data refer to observations at Armagh Observatory, which has been recording the weather at Armagh since 1795.
