June Sunnier and Warmer than Average

Armagh Observatory reports that June was somewhat sunnier and warmer and slightly drier than average.

Rainfall amounted to 56.6 mm (2.23 inches), that is, about 10% below average.

The number of hours of sunshine was 223.3, that is, over one-third more the June average.

The mean monthly temperature was 14.5 degrees Celsius (58.0 degrees Fahrenheit), that is, almost one degree C above the average for June. The maximum temperature recorded was 26.7 degrees C on 2nd. There were five nights with grass frost.

These data refer to observations at Armagh Observatory, which has been recording the weather at Armagh since 1795.
