Celestron 4GT Slewing Problem

Have recently purchased a celestron nexstar 4gt. Alignment, one objec,, tow objects, or auto is fine and I get a message that its completed. But when I try to go to another object the scope rotates on the vertical indefinitly.
EG - align on saturn. wait a while, ask to find saturn, and its back to the ferris wheel...
Any tips?
