Should I Update Autostar?

Hi,
I just bought a used Meade 2114 with #494 Autostar. Unfortunately I get a "Proc Trap 2" message a couple of seconds after the Easy Align message on the #494 control. Is this a problem that is likely to be fixed if I get a #506 cable and update the #494 firmware? Or should I try to get a new #494 (or other Autostar unit)?
