We're winding down our summer-long upgrade of APO's lightning protection system. Much hard work has been done by Mark, Ron, Dave, Southwestern Electrical, and Rentschler Electric.
Work was accomplished on all buildings. These pictures represent work on the down-conductors to the Ops. building and dormitories.

The down-conductors installed by Southwestern Electrical come off the roofs and are directed into the ground. This is a close-up of how the tranfer is made into the ground.
This view shows how the transition is made from the roof to the casement which leads it to the ground.
Dave Woods (l) and Ron Yarger (r) work on the air lines during the trenching across the front yard.
The next two pictures show how the copper is laid on the roof (light-colored lines from the top of the roof to the eave) and comes to the ground.
A new surge protection panel (MGC Suppressor) was installed in the service area of the Ops. building for the main electric line.
