C/2012 S1 (ISON) - November 9, 2013 Comet C/2012 S1 (ISON) was a magnitude dimmer than predicted when this image was taken on Saturday morning (Nov. 9) during astronomical twilight. Sharp eyed viewers will notice a satellite trail near the comet's tail. On Thursday, November 14th it was reported that the comet is in outburst and is now between magnitudes 5.7 - 6.1.
