1. Significant funding boost - 2007 Budget announcement ­ the Australian SKA Pathfinder CSIRO ATNF has been awarded AU$ 51.7 M in new federal funding towards the further development of the Australian SKA pathfinder. There is also additional funding of $5M directly to DEST for their participation and engagement with the international SKA project. These funds are in addition to the AU$49 million for Australian SKA activities announced by the Australian government a few months ago. Next Australian Industry cluster briefing event ­ Melbourne 17 May 2007 The Inaugural Victorian meeting of the Australian SKA Industry Cluster will be held in Melbourne, Thursday 17 May (2-4.30pm). SKA Technologies roadmap The SKA Technologies roadmap ­ a review of Australian SKA-related R&D and industry opportunities has been prepared and will be `launched' at the Melbourne event on 17 May 2007. After the launch, this document will be available from the MIRA project website www.atnf.csiro.au/projects/MIRA 6. MIRANdA Antenna specification


Given the degree of interest in the antenna specification for MIRANdA we have posted a project brief at http://www.atnf.csiro.au/projects/mira/antennas.html (see link at bottom of the page). This document sets out the design criteria and options for the MIRANdA antennas and we welcome feedback on potential designers/suppliers on the issues raised.
