Launch vehicle with Soyuz TMA-18M spacecraft is on the launch pad

Today, August 31, the launch vehicle Soyuz-FG integrated with the manned transportation spacecraft Soyuz TMA-18M was rolled out of the processing facility and was erected on the launch pad of Area 1 ("Gagarin's launch pad") of the Baikonur cosmodrome.

Meetings of the Technical management and State commission were held. A decision on rollout of the launch vehicle with the Soyuz TMA-18M transport manned spacecraft to the launch facility and its preparation for launch planned for September 2, 2015 was adopted.

Today, August 28, the operation was completed to undock the manned transportation spacecraft Soyuz TMA-16M from the Mini Research Module (MRM2) Poisk and dock it to the propulsion compartment of the Service Module (SM) Zvezda of the International Space Station (ISS).

RSC Energia announces competition for the best name of the spacecraft for missions to the Moon

Rocket and Space Corporation Energia announces creativity competition for the best name of the new-generation crew transportation spacecraft, which is planned to be used for missions to the Moon.
The competition time frame: August 30 through November 2, 2015. Its results will be announced on January 15, 2016.
