Launch of Progress M-05M logistics spacecraft to ISS. At 21:15:09 Moscow Time a logistics spacecraft Progress M-05M was launched from the Baikonur launch site.
The purpose of the launch is to support further in-orbit operation of the International Space Station in accordance with Russian commitments under that project.

RSC Soyuz At Baikonur launch site the preparations continue for the launch of Progress M-05M cargo vehicle under the International Space Station program.
Soyuz-U launch vehicle was rolled out from the integration building to the launch pad. Soyuz-U launch vehicle with Progress M-05M transport vehicle is installed on the launch pad. L-2 days activities have been started.

LV Soyuz-U, containing CVs Progress M-05M At Baikonur launch site the preparations continue for the launch of Progress M-05M cargo vehicle under the International Space Station program.
Orbital module of the Soyuz-U launch vehicle, containing Progress M-05M spacecraft was integrated with the Soyuz-U launch vehicle in the processing facility.
Technical management meeting and Government Commission meeting were convened. A decision is made to roll out Soyuz-U launch vehicle with Progress M-05M transport vehicle to the launch pad.

The first communication satellite Molnia-1 Forty five years ago, the launch of the pioneer national communication satellite Molnia-1 developed by the team of OKB-1 (now RSC Energia) under the leadership of S.P. Korolev, in broad cooperation with space industry enterprises, was performed.

Progress M-05M cargo vehicle At Baikonur launch site the preparations continue for the launch of Progress M-05M cargo vehicle under the International Space Station program.
Orbital module of the Soyuz-U launch vehicle, containing Progress M-05M spacecraft was transported from the spacecraft processing facility for the general integration with LV.

Mini Research Module MRM1 Rassvet Mini Research Module MRM1 Rassvet - a new module for the Russian Segment (RS) of the International Space Station (ISS) - continues to undergo its processing for launch at Kennedy Space Center (KSC), Fl, USA.
In the end of March of this year specialists from S.P.Korolev RSC Energia working at KSC facilities have successfully completed electrical tests on the module, have loaded its pressurized compartment with gas, have checked pressure integrity of hatches and filling valves.

ISS forthcoming crew expedition training S.P.Korolev RSC Energia held schedule training sessions under the crew-training program for Expeditions to the International Space Station (ISS).
Specialists of the Corporation got Paolo Nespoli (astronaut, flight enfineer of the backup crew for ISS-24/25) acquainted with procedures and tools for maintenance and repair operations on the ISS Russian Segment, with multifunctional indicator device installed on new Russian modules Poisk and Rassvet.

Corporation specialists have conducted training with Russian cosmonauts of the ISS-24/25 crew F. Yurchikhin and D. Kondratiev in the procedures for replacing the software in the onboard computer system, procedures and tools for maintenance and repair of the hardware on the Russian segment of ISS.

The docking of Soyuz TMA-18 SC with ISS The Russian manned transportation spacecraft Soyuz TMA-18 has docked with the International Space Station (ISS).
The spacecraft approached ISS after two days of free flight in low Earth orbit. Rendezvous with the space station, its fly-around, stationkeeping and docking were performed in automatic mode.
The initial contact with the docking port on the Poisk module of the Russian segment of the space station occurred at 09:24:50 Moscow Time.

Soyuz launch vehicle in flight In accordance with the mission plan of the International Space Station (ISS) and Russian commitments under this international project, a manned transportation spacecraft Soyuz TMA-18 was launched from Baikonur launch site at 08:04 Moscow Time.
The objective of the launch is to deliver to ISS a crew of three in order bring the crew of Expedition Twenty Three (ISS-23) up to six.
The spacecraft crew: Flight engineer of ISS-23, commander of ISS-24, commander of Soyuz TMA A.Skvortsov; flight engineer of ISS-23/24, flight engineer of Soyuz TMA M.Kornienko (both from Russia); flight engineer of ISS-23/24, flight engineer of Soyuz TMA T.Caldwell-Dyson (USA).

Primary crew of the Soyuz TMA-18 spacecraft The State Commission held its meeting at Baikonur launch site where the primary and backup crews for Soyuz TMA-18 were approved and the readiness of the space launcher system was confirmed.
At the suggestion of the Head of the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center S.K. Krikalev, the State Commission approved the proposed composition of the primary and backup crews.

Sergei Anokhin Today marks 100th anniversary of the legendary test pilot Sergei Anokhin.
The test flights he has accomplished wend down in aviation history as truly unique. Those were flutter tests of many aviation designs, tests of some of the most exotic aircraft of the A-40 flying tank type, stability and spin tests of various airplanes and gliders, breaking the sound barrier, high-altitude flights, refueling in the air, engine tests, catapult-assisted lift-offs and many others. For his airmanship during flight tests of aircraft-type missile Kometa in 1953, S.N.Anokhin was awarded the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union and the State Prize.
