At the Baikonur cosmodrome the prelaunch processing of Zenit-2SB launch vehicle (LV) with Upper Stage DM-SLB and Intelsat-18 telecommunication spacecraft is continued.
Today at the Assembly & Test Facility of the cosmodrome site 42 the specialists of the rocket-space industry provided general assembly of the Integrated Launch Vehicle: mechanical docking of the Ascent Unit consisting of Upper Stage DM-SLB and Intelsat-18 spacecraft under the payload fairing with Zenit-2SB LV. Upon completion of mechanical operations the specialists began to provide mating of electrical connections between the Launch Vehicle and the Ascent Unit.

At 00:18 Moscow Time (08:18 PM GMT, September 24), the seagoing Launch Platform Odyssey belonging to the space rocket launching system Sea Launch and located in the equatorial area of the Pacific Ocean at 154 deg E launched an Integrated Launch Vehicle (ILV) Zenit-3SL carrying as its payload ATLANTIC BIRD™ 7 spacecraft (SC).
The launch objective is to deliver the 4.6-ton spacecraft into a geotransfer target orbit.
The spacecraft insertion into this orbit was performed by the space upper stage Block DM-SL, designed and built by S.P. Korolev RSC Energia, from an intermediate low Earth orbit, where the upper stage with the spacecraft had been delivered by the two-stage launch vehicle Zenit-2S.

Preparations for the launch of Zenith-2SB (LV) with the upper stage DM-SLB and telecommunications spacecraft Intelsat 18 continue at Baikonur launch site.
Yesterday, the payload unit was loaded onto a transportation platform, and today it was transported to Area 42 of the launch site where it is to be mated with the launch vehicle Zenit-2SB.

Underway is prelaunch processing of launch vehicle (LV) Zenit-2SB and telecommunication spacecraft (SC) at Baikonur Cosmodrome.
According to press service of Roscosmos and SC Yuzhniy, today at the Cosmodrome Assembly and Testing Facility on site 31 assembly of Ascent Unit (AU) has been completed: installation ("encapsulation") of payload fairing on spacecraft Intelsat-18 with Uppers Stage DM-SLB has been performed. Upon completion of electric checks and final operations AU will be transshipped to transport platform and carried to Cosmodrome site 42 for mating with launch vehicle.

Today the teams of S.P. Korolev RSC Energia, foreign specialists and FGUP TsENKI branch office - Yuzhny Space Center began to assemble the Ascent Unit: Intelsat-18 SC on the adapter is docked with Upper State DM-SLB.
These operations are performed as per the work schedule.

Underway is prelaunch processing of launch vehicle Zenit-2SB with Upper Stage DM-SLB and telecommunications space craft Intelsat-18.
According to Roscosmos' press service, on September 20, 2011 the joint team consisting of Yuzhniy Space Center and foreign enterprises specialists completed loading of spacecraft propulsion system with propellant components at the Cosmodrome filling station on site 31.
Today spacecraft Intelsat-18 has been mated to the adapter at the Assembly & Testing Facility on site 31.
