Soyuz TMA-22 crews arrived to the Baikonur launch site

and backup (Padalka Gennagy Ivanovich (Roscosmos, Russia), Revin Sergey Nikolaevich
(Roscosmos, Russia) and Acaba Joseph Michael (NASA, USA)) crews of the Soyuz TMA-22
transportation spacecraft arrived to the Baikonur launch site. At the airport they were met by members of the State Commission and Technical Management.

Progress M-13M logistics spacecraft is in orbit
At 02:11:12 PM Moscow Time a logistics spacecraft Progress M-13M was launched from the Baikonur launch site.
The purpose of the launch is to support further in-orbit operation of the International Space Station in accordance with Russian commitments under that project.

Today at SC Assembly and Testing Facility designer's inspection of cargo vehicle Progess M-13M was performed and encapsulation of launch vehicle payload fairing on space vehicle was conducted; check activation of Progress M-14M electric circuits was carried out; check illumination of TMV Soyuz TMA-22 solar arrays was performed; operations with TMV Soyuz TMA-03M in anechoic chamber were completed.

Soyuz TMA-03M transferred to anechoic chamber.
Continuing at Baikonur launch site is the pre-launch processing of the Soyuz TMA-03M manned spacecraft, which is to go to the International Space Station late in December 2011.
At present the spacecraft has been transferred to anechoic chamber, where tests will be run on the radio systems of Soyuz TMA-03M, primarily on the Kurs system, which supports rendezvous and docking of the spacecraft with the International Space Station.

Building new comfortable houses for Corporation employees.
S.P. Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia goes on with its activities aimed to perform an important social task it undertook of providing the employees with a modern comfortable housing.
At the present time, in the residential area of the 1st phase construction preparations continue for acceptance of multistory house No. 1 and a two-level under ground garage for 453 car parkings for its tenants; all amenities are being built on the territory under construction, as well as the sixth and seventh floors of multistorey dwelling house No. 2 and the 2-storey shop built against it are being erected.

Charitable action of RSC Energia
The delegation from RSC Energia has transferred a 19-seat minibus into possession of special (correction) boarding school for blind and weak-sighted children located in the city of Korolev.
At the boarding school assembly hall a solemn ceremony of handing over the documentation on the minibus to its principal T.V. Morozova took place.

Intelsat 18 spacecraft was delivered into target orbit
The rocket and space system Zenith-3SLB consisting of a launch vehicle (LV) Zenit-2SB with the upper stage Block DM-SLB has put the 3.2-ton telecommunications spacecraft Intelsat 18 into its target geotransfer orbit.
The launch under the Land Launch program occurred at 01:00:02 Moscow Time.

Postponement of the launch of the Zenit-2SB/DM-SLB launch vehicle carrying Intelsat 18 spacecraft
On October 4, the State Commission held a session on the launch of Intelsat 18 using Zenit-2SB/DM-SLB launch vehicle under the Land launch program.
At the request of the foreign customer, the launch of the spacecraft was moved to the back up launch date - October 6, 2011.
The launch is scheduled for 01:00 Moscow Time.

Kedr satellite operation in orbit
Mini-satellite Kedr a joint project between S.P. Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia, NASA and students of the Kursk State Technical University - has been successfully working in orbit for two months.
The satellite is intended for performing the RadioSkaf space experiment.

Roll out of Zenit-3SLB ILV with US DM-SLB and Intelsat-18 SC to the launch site
Yesterday at the Baikonur cosmodrome the meetings of Technical Management and State Commission were held, at which a decision was accepted to roll out the Zenit-3SLB Integrated Launch Vehicle with Upper Stage DM-SLB on October 2, 2011; ILV is intended to inject telecommunication spacecraft Intelsat-18 into orbit.
On October 2 the ILV roll out to the launch site was provided. Upon completion of operations for ILV installation in the launcher the teams began activities as per the 1-st launch day schedule.
