The operation objective is to conduct flight tests of a new radio system installed onboard the vehicle for mutual measurements of the Kurs-NA motion parameters, intended for search, rendezvous and docking with the Station.

The spacecraft approached ISS after two days of free flight in low Earth orbit. Approach to the space station, its fly-around, stationkeeping and docking were performed normally, in automatic mode.
The initial contact with the docking port on the research module Poisk of the Russian segment of the space station occurred at 08:51:07 AM Moscow Time.
