Expedition 2 (ISS-2)
MAIN TASKS OF THE EXPEDITION
- Orbital insertion of ISS-2 crew by Space Shuttle during Flight 5A.1;
- Maintenance of the Station functionality;
- Support of the docking/undocking operations relative to the Progress M-44, Progress M1-6, Soyuz TM-31, Soyuz
TM-32 vehicles and Space Shuttles during flights 5A.1, 6A, 7A, 7A.1;
- Progress, Soyuz and Shuttle unloading;
- Going on with the Station assembly operations;
- Implementation of the Research and Experimental Program, as well as the contract-based commercial activities;
- Conduct of the activities under the Visiting Crew Program VC-1:
Experiments under the Russian Program (Plazmenniy Kristall,
Poligen, Diatomeya); Experimental
Program of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Contractual activities with D. Tito (photographing and video shooting)
and with SPACEHAB (LEGO and Popular Mechanics Projects);
- Crew handover to Expedition three (ISS-3) and return of ISS-2 crew by Space Shuttle Flight 7A.1
