XM-Radio-1 Launch
CHRONOLOGY OF ACTIVITIES
November 6, 2000 - December 24, 2000 |
Activities at Home Port:
- annual maintenance of Rocket Segment systems;
- ILV testing and assembly;
- transfer and ILV Dry Roll-Out.
|
December 24, 2000 - January 5, 2001 |
ACS/LP transit to the launch site. |
January 6-8, 2001 |
Pre-launch processing. |
January 8, 2001 |
An attempt is made to launch the Zenit-3SL ILV with the XM Radio-1 spacecraft. The launch was stopped
on Mission Director's command (issued 11 s prior to the launch) because the spacecraft was not ready.
Due to the fact that the Stage 1 engine was loaded with kerosene and starting fuel the repeat launch
without Stage 1 replacement became impossible. Propellant components drain from ILV tanks.
|
January 9-10, 2001 |
ILV drying after propellant components drain, ILV reset. Propellant components drain from the Stage
1 propulsion system. |
March 29, 2001 - 19 April 2001 |
ILV testing and assembly aboard ACS. |
April 20, 2001 |
ILV transfer from ACS to LP. |
April 21-24, 2001 |
Performance of two tests under the Dry Roll-Out program. |
April 25 - May 5, 2001 |
ACS/LP transit to the launch site. |
May 6-8, 2001 |
Pre-launch processing. |
May 9, 2001 |
At 2:10 A.M. Moscow Time (May 8, 2001 at 3:10 P.M. Pacific Time) is carried out the seventh launch from the Odyssey
Launch Platform under the Sea Launch program. The XM Radio-1 spacecraft is placed into the calculated orbit. |
9 May, 2001 |
Post-launch operations. |
