JCSat-9 Launch
The "JCSat-9" mission preparation began in March 2006 upon successful completion of operations for the Echostar-10 mission.
To launch the "JCSat-9" SC it was planned to use the Zenit-2S LV ? SL21 and Block DM-SL ?22L. It was expected to carry out the prelaunch processing
of the Zenit-2S LV ? SL20 and Block DM-SL ?21L as 'donors'.
CHRONOLOGY OF ACTIVITIES

Operations at the Home Port:
- Zenit-2S LV ? SL21 testing;
- Operations for Zenit-2S LV ? SL20 (donor);
- Block DM-SL ?22L testing;
- Block DM-SL ?21L testing (prelaunch processing);
- ILV assembly and testing;
- Operations for the Rocket Segment integrated systems and processing equipment;
- Operations for SC;
- Integrated rehearsal ?1 has been conducted during which several off-nominal situations were simulated and the
personnel actions during the launch delay procedure were tested.

April 8, 2006 |
ACS and LP passage to the launch area.
Operations in the sea passage phase:
- Integrated rehearsal ? 2 on ACS with participation of all Sea Launch Segments and organizations
- Final rehearsal ?3 on ACS with participation of all Sea Launch Segments and organizations, SC Customer
and launch Customer with support of MCC (Korolev),
Center (Seattle) and use of TDRSS links.

Operations in the launch area:
- Making the Rocket Segment systems ready for operations
in the launch area;
- ILV preparation for roll-out to the launch pad;
- SC processing;
- Launch platform orientation to the launch position;
- Assembly/Command Ship passage to the launch area;
- ILV roll-out and installation on the launch pad;
- PLU autonomous checks;
- ILV electrical checks;
- 'Critical Launch Readiness Checklist' mode execution.

At 03 hr 30 min Moscow time (April 12, 2006 at 4:30 P.M Pacific standard time) a launch was performed from
the Odissei launch platform. The JSCat-9 spacecraft has been injected into the calculated orbit.

Upon completion of postflight operations LP and ACS went out of the launch area and headed for the Home Port. |
