Closing in on the E-ELT at sunset and the start of observations

This video sequence is based on an accurate artist���s rendering of what the European Extremely Large Telescope (E-ELT) will look like once it is complete early in the next decade. The view starts at the bottom of the Cerro Armazones mountain, close to ESO���s Paranal Observatory, and closes in on the telescope in its enclosure during observations at night. The E-ELT will be the largest optical/infrared telescope in the world ��� the world's biggest eye on the sky.
