Rare storm over Paranal

This very unusual view shows the summit of Cerro Paranal, home of ESO���s Very Large Telescope, during the worst weather period in the last decade. The normally flawless blue sky of the Atacama Desert was briefly replaced by a bleak grey vista more characteristic of northern Europe. The picture was taken by ESO Photo Ambassador Gianluca Lombardi.
