The DFS Integration kick-Off : end of phases of development and/or maintenance, during which elements necessary for starting the following Integration phase are checked.

WHEN : typically 6 weeks before the official deadline i.e. date by which the new DFS release has to be operational on the mountain.

WHAT :
Specific Integration Kick-off meetings at DFS component level and SCCB meetings must be organized first to prepare this DFS Integration Kick-Off meeting.

The DFS Integration Kick-Off meeting will then simply summarize all results from DFS components Integration Kick-Off meetings.

Check that the content of the whole DFS delivery to SEG:

complete list of features / functionalities / performances requirements delivered to SEG.
description of all effective testcases to be run by SEG: detailed definition describing what to test and how to test (procedure describing step by step how the test is to be performed, input data, expected results, ...).
check that all required test means are available : machines, specific data or input files, Databases, profile tools, ..., properly installed and configured.
check whether software products delivered to SEG match the expected delivery (i.e. the one defined during the Commissioning Kick-off).
check whether testcases to be performed match the effective delivery to SEG (evaluate the expected test coverage).

Determine if the delivery to the configuration management tool (e.g. SNIFF) is ready. If not, detail of all required actions and associated responsible persons and due dates.

and, finally, decide to begin or to postpone Integration tests.

WHY : a formal integration protocol is to be defined between DFS projects and SEG.

HOW : Integration Kick-Off meeting at DFS level, with :

the DFS group Head.
the relevant project managers.
the Quality Assurance manager.
the SEG testers.

Before this meeting,

each relevant project manager will bring:

minutes from his specific Integration Kick-off meeting previously held at DFS component level.

SEG testers will prepare:

an up-to-date version of the different Test Plans to be applied (see the template for Test Plan in StarOffice format.

The current Commissioning Plan will be updated after this meeting (usually by the QA manager).
It is strongly recommended that each participant prepares the Integration Kick-off meeting before going to it, in order to save time.
