At the end of December 2004, the CCD was removed from the telescope and returned to Spectral Instruments in Tucson.
The existing thick chip will be replaced with a thinned chip and the readout changed from 2-channel to 4-channel. This will result
in a fainter limiting magnitude, faster readout and, hopefully, an increased discovery rate! However, until the CCD is reinstalled,
no observations will be made with the Uppsala.
Additional changes being made during this period include the installation of a compress air drier, collimating camera and
cloud monitoring camera.
