Yes, you can do this (we do it at COAST all the time). I don't know
whether the network time software is installed on your finder, if it isn't,
Chris might be able to do it for you - there are instructions on the
COAST manual web pages (although the network addresses in the document need
to be updated).

There are several caveats if you plan on taking fast data while networked:

1. You should not run network time synchronisation on DIMMWIT while taking
fast data. At COAST we only run it during the day and rely on the system
clock at night.

2. You should use a switched hub (so DIMMWIT only sees the network traffic
that is intended for it).

3. You should minimise the broadcast packets on the network.

If DIMMWIT is busy with ethernet requests this can cause dropouts in
fast data, hence these precautions.
