LaTeX

In response to some questions from those curious to know more about LaTeX, which is the package used for typesetting the lecture notes and handouts, a LaTeX example has been placed in the directory $PHYTEACH/part_2/examples/LaTeX/ on the PWF Linux systems. The file report.tex can be read with less and contains further information.

It should be stressed that we do not recommend that you spend valuable time learning LaTeX when that time could be better spent on other aspects of this course or, indeed, other courses. There are no bonus marks for using LaTeX rather than Word or any other word processor. Even hand-written write-ups, although not encouraged, will not be penalised if they are suitably presentable.
