Test Time for 430 MHz Interferometer Pro ject.

The Communications and Space Sciences Lab oratory (CSSL) at the Pennsylvania State University is developing a unique receiver system configuration tailored for the Arecib o Observatory (AO) 430 MHz radar facility in order to make it p ossible to detect the tra jectories of ob jects traveling inside the near field (100km height) of the linefeed main b eam. Knowledge ab out meteor tra jectories will provide b etter global estimates of the amount of extra terrestrial material dep osited into the upp er atmosphere where aeronomic effects are profound [Mathews et al., 2001]. This pro ject will also test the necessary application of the new IF-sampling digital receivers to b e used with the interferometer system.
