Completing the Arecibo Galaxy Environment Survey (AGES)

AGES is an HI survey specifically designed to investigate various galactic environments with higher sensitivity than ALFALFA, and also with better spatial and velocity resolution than previous HI surveys. Science goals include: the HI mass function in different environments, the identification of gaseous tidal features and isolated neutral gas clouds, the spatial distribution and properties of HI-selected galaxies, and comparisons with numerical models of galaxy formation. We request 925.25h to complete AGES, including 223.25h in the fall semester that we expect to be scheduled in fall 2013 but which had not been observed by September 3. Our spring request includes 244.75h for the Local Void, which can also be scheduled in the fall semester.
