Radar Observations of Comet C/2004 Q2 (Machholz)

A recently discovered comet C/2004 Q2 (Machholz) will b e observable at Arecib o 2005 January 2-15. The observing window is immediately b efore the time requested by R1885. We request time in the slots b efore those observations. Observations for radar observations of comets are rare, of order once p er year. Radar provides measures of the nucleus size and rotation, and the size distribution of the grain coma that are very difficult to obtain any other way.
