Proposal Title: Determining the Galaxy Density Around Known LSB and HSB Galaxies in the
Nearby Universe
ABSTRACT:
That the small-scale environment a galaxy signicantly aects its evolution has been well established, but the
details of this process are not well known. To gain a better understanding of how the local galaxy density eects
the star- formation properties of low density galaxies, we propose to use Arecibo to complete the galaxy redshift
catalog in select regions of the sky. This project will require a total of 26 hours on the Gregorian system with the
L-wide receiver.
