Proposal Title: An Arecibo Survey for H2CO Masers toward NonMassive Star Forming Regions
ABSTRACT:
At present, formaldehyde (H 2 CO) 6 cm masers have been detected only toward 7 regions in the Galaxy; in all cases
the masers have been found toward massive star forming regions. Given that the first H 2 CO masers were found in
regions of massive star formation, the subsequent surveys have targeted primarily this kind of objects, and no
dedicated survey has been conducted toward nonmassive star forming regions. We propose to conduct the first
survey exclusively focused on the search for H 2 CO masers toward nonmassive star forming regions.
