Proposal Title: Lunar Radar Mapping at 430 MHz
ABSTRACT:
This proposal requests radar observation time using the 430 MHz system to map a number of lunar surface features
at 500 m spatial resolution. The targets proposed address: (1) the depth and rock population of the mare regolith,
(2) the properties of low-return areas such as the regional pyroclastic deposits, (3) the chemical composition of
mare basalt ows, (4) the structure of impact crater oors, and (5) the possibility of ice at the lunar poles.
