Proposal Title: Radar observations of Venus at 13 and 70 cm wavelengths.
ABSTRACT:
We are proposing a new set of radar observations of Venus at 12.6 and 70 cm which will build on the results of the
Magellan mission and earlier Arecibo observations. Major aims are surface electrical and roughness properties from
polarization measurements, wavelength scale dependencies of specular scatter, spin vector determination and, if
possible, altimetry of Maxwell Montes. Thirteen observing sessions are requested in August, 1999.
