Lunar surface studies via S-Band radar imagery and interferometry

We are prop osing additional high resolution (20m), multi-p olarization and interferometric, Arecib o/GBT 13-cm radar studies of the Mo on with the aim of: 1) studying two areas of pyro clastic dep osits which are records of early volcanism on the Mo on and are of interest for their p otential mineral resources; 2) extending the wavelength coverage of "radar-dark halo" craters that have b een studied under the Arecib o/GBT lunar P-Band observing program (PI Bruce Campb ell); 3) obtaining a high spatial and height resolution digital elevation mo del (DEM) of the south p olar region via "two pass" radar interferometry.
