Proposal Title: The Kinematics of the Great Wall
ABSTRACT:
We propose to obtain HI linewidths for a large sample of edge-on spirals in the Great Wall (GW). The linewidths
will be combined with I-band photometry to obtain Tully-Fisher distance and peculiar velocity measurements. The
velocities will allow us to measure for the rst time the kinematical properties of a large scale coherent structure.
The rst part of the study was completed just before the upgrade. We are proposing for time to nish the sample.
