Proposal Title: Intermediate velocity interstellar gas towards the globular cluster M 15
ABSTRACT:
We have identied an intermediate velocity cloud (IVC) towards the nearby globular cluster M 15, hence providing
an unique opportunity to probe the physical conditions within such gas on small spatial scales, using the globular
cluster stars as background sources. We will use Arecibo to obtain high spatial and spectral resolution H I data for
M 15, which combined with existing optical and UV spectroscopy, will provide information on the structure of the
IVC.
