Reinvestigation of Unidentified Sources of Dispersed Pulses Found with As-

tropulse
ABSTRACT:
The Astropulse pro ject, a follow-on to the SETIathome distributed computing pro ject, uses the same dataset as SETIathome. But whereas SETIathome searches for narrow band signals of long time duration, Astropulse searches for short duration (us) pulses that have been dispersed by the interstellar medium. Possible sources of such pulses include giant pulses from pulsars or microscopic black holes evaporating due to Hawking radiation. These observations could also reveal the existence of new classes of pulse emitting compact ob jects. Or, more speculatively, an extraterrestrial civilization might use pulsed radio emissions as a beacon. Astropulse has detected 112 unknown sources of pulsed emission. Under a previous proposal we observed 78 of these sources. Herein we propose to reobserve the remaining 32 unidentified sources detected by Astropulse.
