Proposal Title: HI and H 2 CO Observations of IVCs with Strong Continuum Background Sources
ABSTRACT:
We propose the mapping at 21cm of a sample of Intermediate-Velocity Clouds (IVCs) that have been selected
because they are compact and have strong continuum background sources along their lines of sight. We also
propose to observe this sample at 6cm to search for H 2 CO in absorption. The goals of these observations
are:1)Investigate the morphology of the IVCs in our sample to see if they present evidence of any lamentary
structure and 2)Investigate the presence of Formaldehyde in these systems as a tracer of molecular gas.
