Proposal Title: To monitor the initiation of a jet in IRAS18455+0448
ABSTRACT:
The mainline OH masers of IRAS18455+0448 have changed drastically since December 2010, with the eruption of
strong new features well beyond its velocity range while it was still a normal OHIR star. This star recently (in last
50 years) evolved into a proto planetary nebula (PPN), en route to its planetary nebula phase: it is possibly
generating a jet now that is interacting with its circumstellar shell, which is the next development to expect from a
PPN. This proposal seeks to continue to monitor the development of this jet by monitoring its OH spectral lines.
