Proposal Title: A deep search for the radio pulsar in the supernova remnant G67.7+1.8
ABSTRACT:
Motivated by recent discoveries of faint young pulsars in supernova remnants, we request 5 hours of time to carry
out the most sensitive radio pulsar search possible towards an X-ray point source at the centre of the supernova
remnant G67.7+1.8. The point source will be observed for two complete transits at epochs separated by a few
weeks to con rm any pulsar candidate found and, if a pulsar is detected, measure a period derivative. Placing a
stringent upper limit on the presence of, or better still nding, a pulsar in this remnant would greatly further our
knowledge of young neutron stars.
