Arecibo observations of a bursting pulsar

The moding pulsar B0943+10 was recently shown to exhibit large-scale correlated changes in its radio and X-ray properties. These imply rapid, global changes in the pulsar magnetosphere, challenging all theories of pulsar emission. We wish to enable further observational breakthroughs with simultaneous radio and X-ray observations of PSR B0611+22 which exhibits regular radio bursts in addition to its normal radio emission. Simultaneous multi-wavelength observations of such bursting pulsars have excellent prospects for constraining the physics of these enigmatic ob jects.
