The Fifth Session of Pulsar HI Absorption Measurements of Tiny-Scale Atomic Structure in the Interstellar Medium
ABSTRACT:
We have measured HI absorption sp ectra toward six pulsars using the Arecib o telescop e at four different ep o chs to study prevelance of the tiny-scale atomic structure in the interstellar medium. We wish to extend our observations to somewhat larger time (spatial) scales. These prop osed measurements, when combined with our earlier results, will enable us to determine the relative imp ortance of structure over a large range of (small) scales, from 1 to 700 AUs. This information will help us to select b etween different theoretical explanations of its existence.
