Timing the Double Neutron Star PSR B1534+12

Our timing and profile-variation observations of the double-neutron-star binary PSR B1534+12 continue to provide high-precision tests of strong-field gravity and a unique probe of the general-relativistic geodetic precession rate of the pulsar's spin axis. Here we request 1) 8 90-minute observing sessions (approximately LST 14:3016:00) over the course of the next year 2) a campaign of 14 consecutive observing days (LST 13:4517:00) plus one track (LST 18:00-20:45) of the polarization calibrator PSR B1929+10. These observations will push the precision of our quantitative results even further.
